Nikki went to Loughborough Arts College and gained a BA (Hons) degree in Textiles/Embroidery. From there she worked in the field of public/community arts until 2005, when she decided to fulfil her dream to design and make a collection of accessories incorporating vintage and salvaged materials. In April 2006 she exhibited at the BCTF in Harrogate and this set the ball rolling as she received a great response to her bags, brooches and lampshades.

Within weeks she had been offered a studio/shop within the contemporary craft gallery in the centre of her home town, Hebden Bridge (as seen below). Since then she has exhibited in several galleries over the Christmas period and her business has flourished at 'Heart Gallery'. Since opening in September 2006 she has been comissioned to make over ___ bespoke lampshades for private clients.
